Montgomery County is located to the west, between Fulton and Schoharie County. I-90 bisects the county horizontally. The county becomes increasingly rural as you travel west or away from I-90. There are gorgeous antique homes in Canajoharie and surrounding towns. The eastern portion of the county is largely developed and is home to Amsterdam, a suburb of Albany.
